Couples Therapy & Couples Counseling in New York

"Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. " - Rumi

Empowering guidance for meaningful connections, healthy communication, and lasting intimacy.

Romantic relationships are one of the greatest sources of love, meaning, and belonging in our lives, and also one of the places where we feel most hurt, activated, or alone. Many of us in partnerships keep getting pulled into the same painful cycle and feel stuck when it comes to creating new patterns to relating and connecting to one another.

I offer virtual counseling for couples in New York State, including NYC, Brooklyn, Westchester, and the surrounding areas. I help people with conflict, trust, intimacy, betrayal, breakup recovery, attachement wounds, porn addiction, and frustration patterns in relationships. My work focuses on supporting couples to become a team, experience profound connection, and enhnace each partner's overall wellbeing.

Couples Counseling for Conflict, Trust, and Connection

Couples counseling creates space to step outside the usual patterns and look at the relationship from a new perspective. In that process, partners begin to understand one another more deeply, recognize why certain problems keep recurring, and develop a relationship that feels safer, more accountable, and more meaningful. I work with couples seeking support for:

Conflicts that repeat without resolution

Communication breakdown, defensiveness, and difficulty feeling heard

Attachment patterns that contribute to pursuit, withdrawal, insecurity, or fear of disconnection

High-conflict cycles, escalation, withdrawal, or shutdown

Trust ruptures, betrayal, and relational repair

Emotional disconnection, resentment, and loneliness

Sexual and emotional intimacy struggles

Boundary difficulties within the relationship or with extended family

Parenting stress, changing roles, and major life transitions

Differences around finances, family, responsibilities, or future goals

Discernment around the future of the relationship

Premarital counseling to build a stronger relational foundation

When Relationships Start to Hurt

Sometimes the pain is obvious: communication breaks down, trust has been strained, intimacy feels distant, or resentment keeps building. Othertimes, it is harder to name the problem. We may feel lonely in the relationship, anxious about where we stand, stuck in over-functioning or shutdown, or caught in patterns that keep repeating no matter how much insight we have. We experience patterns as problematic, but they are actually an opportunity that we can use to access the connection we are longing for.

My Approach to Couples Therapy

I see romantic relationships as critical to our overall wellbeing. This has been my personal experience, and my observation in my work as a couple’s therapist. Research consistently shows that the quality of our closest relationships has a meaningful impact on both psychological and physical health. Supportive romantic relationships can help regulate stress, strengthen emotional resilience, and contribute to greater well-being and longevity. Chronic relational distress can place significant strain on both mental and physical health.
